When receiving Dharma teachings, prepare yourself to get the most out of what you read or hear. First, generate the right motivation and attitude, then adopt the right conduct and behaviour. Bodhichitta, or "enlightened mind;" is the necessary motivation for receiving these teachings and putting them into practise. Bodhichitta is the precious attitude that you will work to perfect yourself and achieve Buddhahood in order to help deliver all sentient beings from suffering.
