Your practice is not only for your own happiness, the happiness you experience in practice can be the cause of happiness in others. And we discover that when we feel for others in our meditation, this makes us more happy. So if you have that right motivation of loving-kindness that comes from the heart, this will benefit all beings more effectively than if you give emphasis in your practice only to the habits of the thinking mind.
