Intuition means knowing from the mind without relying on the gross senses. Because nihilists do not believe in the continuity of mind through previous lives, which is the source of intuition, they do not understand that their intuitions come from their previously developed intuitive faculties which are dormant and then rekindled from time to time.
Intuition can be developed on a limited worldly level, such as psychic humans do, on the more extensive supernatural level of gods and demigods, or on the pristine, sublime level of Buddhas.
The level of intuition depends on how deeply and clearly one uses the senses, on the previous development of concentration, and on the object and intensity of the aim which builds the habit of how the senses function. Whatever is aimed for can be attained. With a worldly aim, there will be a worldly result, and one’s intuition will be faulty.
Even if one can intuit more than ordinary people, it will not be so important because the aim and concentration are limited. With a supernatural aim, intuition and prescience can be developed far beyond an ordinary level.
With the aim to attain enlightenment, by practising clear saṃādhi, the senses become transparent and there is no duality to be seen. When beings become sublime, there is no longer intuition. There is just the flawless omniscience of enlightenment, which is knowing everything directly, unobstructedly, clearly, and simultaneously.
