The most important things, as I say again and again, are faith, heartfelt devotion, and pure perception. These three are the most essential points, the most important qualities we need while on the path. You need to know that their whole purpose is not for the lama’s sake, nor for the teaching, but for your sake, for the sake of your own development. We should have a mind that is stable, that will not waver and change, and that is free from hesitation and doubt.
