If you are focused on the negative, you start breathing heavily, you notice shoulder or back pain, and you still have all of your work to do. It can get very messy.

When you train in taking joy and are able to bring the recognition of emptiness into your experience, you start to eliminate the suction of negativity. So please train in seeing the positive qualities in your life. If it is snowing, don’t focus on the dirty streets and your limited mobility. Notice the enlivening breeze. Contemplate where it comes from, all the people it will touch. When it is raining, don’t focus on the wet and cold. Notice how the leaves become vivid with raindrops and see the branches swaying. This is how you can change your mindset.
